Zakat Calculator
Calculate your annual Zakat (2.5%) across all qualifying assets — cash, gold, silver, investments, business inventory, and rental property. Includes Nisab eligibility check.
How This Calculator Works
This calculator follows the majority position of Sunni schools of jurisprudence. Zakat is 2.5% of qualifying wealth held for one lunar year, provided the total exceeds the Nisab threshold. We use the silver-based Nisab (currently around $565) by default, as it is more beneficial to the poor — this aligns with the Hanafi and many contemporary scholars' preference.
The calculation steps:
- Sum all Zakatable assets (cash, gold, silver, investments, trade goods, rental income, property for resale)
- Subtract immediate liabilities (debts due within 12 months)
- Compare the net total against the Nisab threshold
- If eligible, multiply the net total by 2.5%
